The name Mahoutokoro is composed of the Japanese words 魔法 (mahō), meaning "magic, witchcraft, sorcery,"and 所 (tokoro), meaning "place," "spot," or "site."Thus, the name could be translated as "magical place" or "place where witchcraft/sorcery occurs."
Mahoutokoro is one of 11 magic schools in the world of Harry Potter. It is located in Japan and is introduced as possibly the oldest magic school, as it is described as "ancient." Mahoutokoro is also the only Asian wizarding School mentioned in the series so far.
The founders decided to adapt the Mahoutokoro to become a magic school as well as a place for Roleplayers who want to feel what it's like to be a witch/wizard.
